The conference will discuss different European experiences in bilan de competences (e.g. the KOMPASS project and the use of guidance with the Roma population). Following questions will be discussed during the conference, in presence of main national and European actors in bilan de compétences:

  • How can we go further in terms of making the bilan de compétences more integrated into the modularized system of lifelong learning, the system of recognition of prior learning and lifelong guidance that will be put in place in 2015 ?
  • How can we actualize the system of quality criteria: Could a normalization approach under the auspices of the French standard organization AFNOR answer the expectation of public and financing bodies in terms of quality and homogeneity of the practice?
  • How can the bilan de compétences, based on its original human and social values, effectively target the individual and social challenges in terms of lifelong guidance?
