On 13 March 2025, members of the European Federation of Centres for Career Guidance and Bilan de Compétences (FECBOP) gathered in Bratislava for their annual General Assembly.
The meeting – both friendly and productive – brought together representatives from seven countries: France, Italy, Slovakia, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
A strong network anchored in quality and European cooperation
Since its creation, FECBOP has promoted a European vision of career guidance and skills assessment based on quality, collaboration, and mutual recognition of professional practices.
Its transnational quality framework, unique in Europe, remains a cornerstone for ensuring the excellence and credibility of the 53 member organisations currently active in the network.
In 2024, several organisations had their FECBOP Quality Label renewed, including ENAIP Piemonte, ENGIM Piemonte, CIOFS FP Piemonte (Italy), and NOVA Training (Slovakia), while K.A.B.A. Slovensko received its certification for the first time. These decisions, presented by Elisabetta Donato, Chair of the Labelling Committee, demonstrate the ongoing vitality of the federation’s quality assurance process and its growing recognition across Europe.

A year of transition and European projects
In his moral and activity report, President Tomáš Šprlák underlined that FECBOP’s reputation rests not only on its technical expertise, but also on its commitment to innovation, knowledge-sharing, and community building.
The federation’s board met four times during 2024 and continued its involvement in two major Erasmus+ projects – EuroBilCo and Green BdC – while preparing a new initiative: the “Green Skills Assessment” project, focused on sustainability and green transitions in career guidance.
This project aims to:
- Analyse practices linking career guidance and sustainability;
- Develop a “Green Assessment” methodology and toolkit;
- Update the FECBOP Quality Standard;
- Train and support professionals through a European pilot phase.
Shared values: quality, cooperation, and empowerment
During the Assembly, members also reflected on FECBOP’s mission and core values, following a participatory process launched earlier in the year.
Five principles clearly stand out:
- Quality and professional excellence;
- Knowledge exchange and peer learning;
- European networking and solidarity;
- Client-centred orientation;
- Empowerment of professionals and clients alike.
As summarised in the new Mission Statement:
“To provide methodological guidance and quality standards, and to develop and share good practices in career guidance at the European level.”
Looking ahead: continuity and renewal
For 2025, the FECBOP will continue to strengthen its European visibility, promote peer exchanges and research, support continuous professional development, and advocate for the recognition of the career balance and competence assessment method as a key component of lifelong guidance across Europe.
The Assembly unanimously approved the 2024 activity and financial reports, as well as the 2025 budget.
In a time of profound changes in the world of work, the FECBOP reaffirms its mission:
to empower individuals to believe in themselves and in their future – while supporting the transition toward a more sustainable, caring, and human world of work.
